WhatWhenWhere - Novel Interaction with Event Calendars
COLLABORATORS - JAY GORDON, DEEPTI CHITTAMURU

Event calendars such as Yahoo! Upcoming are popular applications for information on local public events. While they are useful in discovering the most popular events for a city, or even filter down based on particular tags, it is difficult to search with a specific location/time in mind (e.g. wednesday afternoon around campus). The goal of this project was to create an event calendar that facilitates exploratory browsing, and lets users easily navigate through the large amount of data that comes with public event calendars.

The application uses the familiar map to mark events, and uses an experimental interface called 'Timeline' to let users navigate through time. Interactive components such as tag clouds and filters help in restricting the results presented. Please go through the brief presentation below for a quick explanation of the project.
