Microclimates - Weekly Preferences Widget

In the Fall of 2008, I consulted for an early-stage startup focusing on building residential energy monitoring solutions. One example of an interesting Interaction Design problem we encountered was around the initial setting for temperature regulation devices. A user should be able to easily express their desired setting across an entire week based on anticipated use. This is a functionality that is quite common in today's thermostats, but the interfaces for doing so are quite confusing. I designed and helped develop a solution to this sticky problem. The final design solution that I came up with tested well, and was commended for ease-of-use and understandability.
